After months of studying the rock, Daniel Head – the premiere route finder in Kawakawa Bay, NZ – finished bolting the 6 pitch climb on the infamous Odyssey wall.
I had the pleasure of being invited down to photograph him. So, dangling hundreds of feet in the air on a thin little rope, I abseiled down the cliff to the bottom, where I met the the climbers who had hiked around the bottom of the lake. As the 3 climbers began the ascent up the cliff face, I ascended the rope next to them – doing the best I could to not sway in the wind or drop a lens to the rocks below.
